Pedersoli short land pattern musket (42" barrel).
(commonly referred to as the Brown Bess.)
This Reproduction musket was made in 1985, going by the boxed "AN" Italian inspectors stamp on the left-hand side of the Breach.
Typically marked "GRICE 1762 GR" on the lock, as were the originals...see pictures.
Comes with leather Sling, Vent pricker & Brush, Bayonet & cloth mounted leather Scabbard, all for the asking price of $1000.....
The Bayonet and leather scabbard are of Indian make.
The bayonet does not have the fluting down the two exterior sides of the blade as did the originals however it is all solid steel, and fits well onto the musket.
The socket & elbow looks a little wonky but this is the Indian way of making repros so there is no mistaking it as being a copy (if you are handy with a forge you could reshape it to look the part but that is a suggestion).
the firearm is excellent for shooting, blank-firing re-enactments or just display (this is a live firing firearm so it is licensed).
The Bore is very good and bright, Lock action is tight & firm, woodwork is a nice honey colour with little damage apart from the odd bump or two in the wood...it has been around since 1985!
The ramrod has no thread on the end, so you can put your own thread on for your cartridge removal tool or ball puller.....
It has been looked after by me since coming into my possession some years ago so it is in good working condition....
For an extra $50, there is a movie use horn powder flask & a small canvas haversack that can go with this as a set.
I do have a original later pattern bayonet (1840s) with the extra ring around the mouth of the bayonet for attaching to a latch on the later muskets - this model of bayonet has seen a lot of use but fits on the Pedersoli large bore muskets.
There are markings and inspectors stamps, they are worn & barely readable...price for this one is $100.
Alternatively the Musket alone can be sold WITHOUT any of the above accessories (Bare - no sling, pricker/brush, bayonet & scabbard) for $950.
All in good condition, little used except for a little ageing to the top of the barrel as used for the "Pirates of the Caribbean, dead men tell no tales" movie - Queensland production - a C.o.A is available, as provided by the movie Armourer for the firearm & also for the powder horn and haversack.
The transaction is to go through Qld Gun Exchange (QGE), Wellington rd East Brisbane, Qld - once all monies are paid - I prefer paypal (contact me prior), direct deposit, cheque (once cleared)....if you want to view prior to purchase I can do so at QGE by arrangement....
if you live interstate, full payment & transfers fees are required to be paid prior to any shipment.
