And The sort of thing the old gunsmiths like Jack Millar and Ron Webb loved to do. As much just to show off their skills. Just stop and think of the work involved...everything kept true, exact cutting (firing pin, main spring, extractor) and welded..exact...exactly....and then it has to be functional and rehardened etc etc. Examples on US gunboards.
Usually 2 actions were used with one ending up 'short' and the other long enough to take 375 HH etc.
Any work on the action from this point is standard fare.

Anyone wanting to use it to make a 250/3000 would be best to build a rifle with a 'blind' magazine. Rem parts easily adapted available through Brownells. That way you will have no trouble getting the 250/3000 or similar in the magazine.
