Description:

No nonsense listing - very hard to find an example of this age in this condition.

22LR/410 combination rifle with joined barrels all the way to the muzzle, receiver stamped 'Savage 24J'.

Barrel stamp 1R, Receiver stamp 23R so a 1964 built rifle.

Excellent condition all round for it's age - apart from any factory imperfections, I can't see anything major wrong with it. Very few dings I can see. Only selling to fund modifications to my centrefire (to accomodate my physical limitations).

The original metal pivot plate was showing some signs of age (structurally perfect just the black coating faded slightly), so I have mounted a new Triple K replacement piece (polymer) and also have a spare new Triple K pivot plate in sealed bag (another polymer piece). The original metal pivot plate is here with the rifle, and can be reinstated quite easily (5 minute job). Front sight currently off the rifle, but is here with the pivot plate.

Original rear sight intact and unmolested.

- Allen recoil pad (like new)
- BKL single rimfire mounts - pair (new)
- Weaver quad lock low rings (new)
- Korean made Bushnell Banner (like new)
- Butler Creek no drill sling in Mossy Oak (new - not in picture)

I have test fired 10 rounds of CCI quiet from the 22LR barrel with excellent accuracy (for a notoriously inaccurate round).

I have never fired the 410 barrel, only tested the chamber and extractor with 3" shell - it looks in excellent condition, possibly unfired but I can't attest to the history of the gun before I had it.

Action is nice and tight. Extractors work fine.

Timber is gorgeous - much better than other model 24's I have had.

Serious inquiries welcomed. Lot's more photo's available on request for serious inquiries.

Rifle available for transfer after lockdown is lifted and the gun shop is open again. Any costs associated with freight or transfer to be borne by the purchaser.
