Description:
1942 Lee Enfield Number 4, Mark 1 made in ROF - Maltby factory, which produced approximately 737,000 rifles between 1941 and 1945, when it closed. I have owned this rifle for 30 years, very little use.
This Enfield is the first variation early Number 4, Mark 1 with the round button cocking piece designation. Getting rare in this condition.
Two groove rifling, rear sight is L shaped, dual aperture flip type 300 to 600 yards. Zamac butt plate.
All matching numbers, tight chamber, good bore, no cracks in timberwork, bluing good. Rifle in very good, used condition for its age.
Operates and shoots well, would make an excellent collection piece.
