Can you find Australian sourced blanks like this? maybe once in 20 years.

*Root walnut
*Quarter sawn.
*Last period of air dried wood harvested in Turkey.
*Straight grain through the entire forend.
*Note the extensive fiddleback.

Profile for modern classic rifle stock shape:
straight comb, minimum drop, standard factory length.
Refer layout in last pic goes min' 13 3/8" LOP in rearmost position, 5/8" drop at comb and 1.0" heel, Plus Pachmayr pad of your preference.
Length 880mm Width 60mm Depth at Butt 140mm.

Affected area is above the grip, shallow semi circle, about 12-14mm down and runs back to the top of blank approx same amount and 150mm
Wont go further when shaped for the pistol grip. Detail pic avail.

I'm losing a LOT of $$$ on this blank and despite the 'problem area' believe its a bargain.You'll pay this for an equivalent 2 piece blank and of course this can be used for 2 piece with no problems

Its very hard to find and buy wood like this for any money.
I'd build on it myself but I'm right out of that due to age/health..
