Description:

This rifle was purchased by myself in the early 80's at a Burton's Arms fair. The vendor had about six of these rifles he said were unissued. I picked out the best one of the bunch and purchased it together with a bayonet that cost almost half as much as the rifle. The rifle had a ishy screw reinforcing the stock meaning it was originally issued to the Indian army. I fired a couple of shots cleaned the barrel and it been in storage not fired ever since. The rifles barrel is perfect, some of the rifle metal work is still covered in preserving grease. There is no makers name on the metal work the only clue to the maker is on the stock M47 that was the war time code of BSA, also the serial number prefix is BD used by BSA. The action, stock, bolt and magazine all have matching numbers. Over the years l have played with the rifle and there is a couple of scratches on the butt and I have worn a bit of blue off the flash holder where I have had the bayonet fitted also on the bolt where I have worked the action. Overall a nice rifle bayonet combination, the bayonet blade is still in factory grease. Please enlarge all the photos and check the rifle out. If the rifle is sold the gunsmith charges $95 to pack and send within Australia. The rifle is only for sale within Australia. Thanks for looking.
