Description:
I have decided to sell this William IV New Land Cavalry Pistol circa 1835.
15 1/2" overall, 9" round carbine bore barrel with ordnance proofs. I purchased this piece back in about 1984-85 from a Melbourne dealer, at the Sydney Gun Show, who specialized in flintlock and percussion firearms. Details of this particular pistol have been confirmed by Mr Philip Spooner of West Street Antiques UK. A very similar pistol can be viewed on his website.
Barrel is stamped with various markings. As can be seen in the pictures. Stock has a couple of markings ^ BO , HB. This particular piece has had its lock replaced, probably done in India around 1860. All parts function as they should. Lovely piece to hang over the fireplace..... Reduced from $2400.
