Description:
This 1943 Lithgow SMLE No 1 MKIII has all matching numbers. Typical of a 'FTR', it has a heavy barrel dated 1948. The bore is shiny with well-defined rifling. This is a beautifully presented rifle, with recently refurbished metalwork and Australian coachwood furniture, including a 'long' buttstock to suit taller shooters. The buttstock is fitted with a replica marksman cheek pad for easy sighting through the Lyman peep sight. The chrome bolt is silky smooth. The rifle may suit some military shooting disciplines.
